As she is growing up Sarah remembers scenes which have shaped her life. She is a Jewish girl living in the first half of XIXth century Russia. The fictional characters are set against a background of real customs, facts and historic events.
The story is bilingual French/English presented in manageable alternative sections of both languages, allowing the reader to enrich his or her comprehension as well as extend the range of vocabulary.
